BIBLICAL INSPIRATION

Let each one of us make it a practice to please (make happy) his neighbour for his good for his true welfare, to edify him [to strengthen him and build him up spiritually]. Rom 15:2 (Amplified Bible)

A safe place

Hi Christoggers!

I WISH YOU A VERY BLESSED 2013! MAY YOU ENJOY THE PEACE OF GOD IN ALL SEASONS OF YOUR LIFE, AMEN.

I thank God for the undeserving grace and privilege to have lived through another year. There is no doubt that this new year will have it's challenges, as well as wonderful experiences that are all part of life.

Life is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, joy and sadness but that does not mean we have to give up. There seems to be an increase in the disaster stories we hear and read about, while the wonderful happenings around the world are not so often reported. The sum total of this is that we are slowly and gradually being poisoned by fear. If it's not worries about money, it will be fear of sickness or accidents and so on.

We are familiar with the ninety-first Psalm: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (King James Version).

Now, 'dwelling' in this first verse basically tells us that our permanent residence should be in the presence of God and this automatically qualifies us for protection.  'Abiding under the shadow of the Almighty' is remaining under the protection of God, even under changing circumstances. In Exodus 15:21-22, as the Israelites journeyed from Egypt to Canaan:

...the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. (KJV)

God was leading them and as long as they followed, his 'banner' of protection was not taken away. Verses 10 and 11 of Psalm 91 emphasize:

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

'There', is in the presence of God, our safe place. No matter where you may find yourself in this new year, stay in God's presence. He's got angels assigned to accompany you 'in all your ways' on your earthly mission. So, as long as we are in his will and dwell in his presence, we shall remain safe.

PRAYER: Father, please give me the grace to dwell in your presence always, in Jesus' mighty name, Amen
